Happy first birthday, baby!

Yesterday was Annika's first birthday -- yay, little baby!

It is really, really hard to believe she's already a year old. Time flies -- seems like just yesterday she was a tiny baby who couldn't even focus on something a few feet away, much less get around on her own steam, and now she's an active, mobile toddler who can sight a peppercorn from the next room, home in on it and get it into her mouth before you can move! (Not that I'd know anything about that from personal experience this very morning, nosirree bob.)

But it has been a truly wonderful year, full of all kinds of exciting discoveries, a few crappy (wakeful & crying) nights, and more laughter than I could've imagined. She's such a sweet, happy, curious and interesting baby; we're so lucky to have her, and she's so lucky to have all of you.
