Partyin' baby

Eeeeverybody wants to see the bay-bee! My mom's friends hosted a tea for Annika and me on Sunday, at the home of my oldest friend's mom. Baby girl was mostly at her best (she had a brief crying spell, which her grandmother was able to stop!), and it was lots of fun to hang out with everyone and talk baby stuff. Two of my oldest friends were there, so we had our picture taken with me & Annika, C. and her 7-year-old daughter, and S. and her 2 1/2-year old son; we will post that as soon as we have it here. All in all, another Propaganda Baby day for the tiny one.

Travelin' baby

So Annika made her debut flight on Thursday, and it could not have gone better! She was a propaganda baby the whole time, and everyone from the TSA people at the x-ray machines to the lady across the aisle from us was as friendly and helpful as could possibly be. We even lucked out with the seating -- it was a very full flight, and ours was the only row of seats with no one in the middle, so we had extra space to spread out and didn't have to crowd our window-seat fellow passenger. Bravo, baby!

Brave girl!

Annika had her 2-month well-baby checkup yesterday! She's now 11 pounds, 4 ounces -- a full three pounds up from her birth weight, and four pounds up from her two-week checkup. And she's getting taller, too -- she's now 23 inches tall (up from 21 at birth). Here's hoping she ends up tall like her dad, instead of the short outlier of the family like her mom. ;-)

She also got her first round of vaccinations, which she took like a champ after a brief but intense bit of surprised wailing; she slept a lot the rest of the day (and night -- 8:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., then 2:15 to 7:00, yay!), and that plus a little baby Tylenol has put her back to rights.

Now, to get ready for her first-ever plane trip on Thursday ... wish us both luck!
